For each chapter of Ecce Romani III (4th edition), this publication includes a vocabulary quiz, a quiz on grammar & true/false questions about the chapter's stories, and a sight translation passage that has vocabulary support and a chunking grid for assessment.   The vocabulary quizzes vary between simple matching quizzes and more complicated quizzes that include drawing pictures of words and etymology questions.  The forms quizzing depends on the topic(s) presented in the chapter; for chapters with no new or review grammar, a forms topic will be identified in the companion curriculum (sold separately) and quizzed on this assessment.  To test mastery of the chapter text, students will answer 10 True/False questions (in Latin) about the story.  These are framed in fairly simple Latin, using vocabulary from the story.  To test translation skills, each chapter's material also includes a sight quiz - a short passage from original Latin.  This is presented with a "magic list" - a running vocabulary list of all the words in the passage.  This allows students to focus on reading skills and not freak out about remembering word meanings.  It also gives the teacher the chance to assess their actual reading skills, and not have to grade vocabulary on a translation quiz.  The sight quizzes are also presented with a chunking grid that allows teachers to quickly, efficiently, and objectively grade these quizzes.
